World cup 1982

In 1982 Honduras enjoy the participation of our national football team in the world cup in Spain. The “primitivos” Maradiaga, the Yearwood, Villegas, Bulnes, Betancourt, Costly, “Macho” Figueroa and others  made Honduras feel proud. People said that Honduras was the best team in E group, and with a gol of  “Pecho” Zelaya Honduras for one moment  had the advantage over Spain, but Spain tied so Honduras couldn't pass to the second round. Even though that they lost, they lost with dignity representing Honduras.
